Intermittent Fasting Day 1!
July 5, 2017

Sometimes, we all just need to hit that reset button on our bodies, which enables us to start making healthier choices, diet and exercise wise. I’ve decided to go ahead and start a juicing and vegetable soup cleanse. Sounds boring and as if it would be bland with no flavor BUT I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way. Here is the recipe for the veggie soup I made this weekend:

  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 bunch of green onions
  • 4 medium sized carrots (I peeled them since they weren’t organic)
  • 1/2 head of green cabbage
  • handful of spinach
  • 3 roma tomatoes
  • 1 jalapeno’ (this made it extra spicy! Don’t get too heavy handed with these)
  • 2 bouillon cubes
  • pink Himalayan sea salt
  • pepper

*SN* I made another batch of this detox soup today and added small red potatoes for a more filling dinner.

I added all of these ingredients to my, beloved crock pot and let it simmer on high for about 5-6 hours.
I ate this soup for lunch (if the juice didn’t fill  me up enough and I felt I needed a lunch) and for dinner

As far as the juices I made, I wanted to mainly stick to green juices, which have more of a nutritional value. Here is the recipe for the green juices I made today:

  • cucumber
  • kale
  • celery
  • apples
  • lemon
  • ginger

I just bought bigger mason jars yesterday to size up on the juice container, that way I only need to drink one of these instead of 3-4 smaller bottles. I usually drink the smaller bottles throughout the day (one in the morning, afternoon and before bed). Now that I have the bigger jars, I will only drink one in the morning!

Along with drinking juice and eating the soups, I also took charcoal pills to make sure I’m binding all of the toxins stuck in my body and releasing them with a laxative.

Some things to be aware of while cleansing is; you will pee like nobody’s business (I’m talking every 20 minutes), it’s best to save the heavy lifting and intense workouts for after you complete your cleanse since you won’t be in taking much protein during this time.

I’ve touched on every meal except for breakfast. Since breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I always start my day with a bowl of oatmeal with nuts, dates and blueberries that way I’m not extremely sluggish and non energized throughout the day.

This is the second day of my cleanse and I have to say, so far it’s going great! I’m only planning to be on it for 3-4 days so i can get back to working out fiercely again! I’m coming for you @blogilates!!!

So let me know if you decide to try this cleanse as well and your results with it! XOXO
